Our Biblical Foundation
At Faith Baptist Church, we stand firmly on the teachings of the Bible as the inspired, inerrant Word of God. Our Statement of Faith represents the core biblical truths that guide our worship, teaching, and ministry. While secondary issues may vary among believers, these fundamentals form the theological foundation of our church family.
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4The Bible
We believe that each word of the Holy Scriptures is inspired of God. The Scriptures are God-breathed, inerrant, and infallible; and are the final authority for faith and practice.
We believe that inspiration and preservation are inseparable and that God has preserved His Word for English-speaking people in the King James Bible.
2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:105
God
We believe there is one living and true God, the Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all divine perfections.
He reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—distinct persons yet one in essence.
Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 4:24
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, born of the virgin Mary, who perfectly fulfilled God’s will. Through His sacrificial death, resurrection, and ascension, He secured redemption for humanity.
He is our Lord, Savior, and the perfect example of obedience and love.
John 1:1-14; Colossians 1:15-20; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Peter 2:21-24
Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, who inspired the Scriptures and continues to convict, regenerate, and empower believers. He indwells every true follower of Christ.
The Spirit transforms lives, bestows spiritual gifts, and assures us of our salvation.
John 14:16-17; Romans 8:9-17; Ephesians 1:13-14
Humanity
We believe that God created humanity in His own image; however, through Adam’s disobedience, all have fallen and are under sin. Despite our inherent dignity, we are in need of salvation.
Only God’s grace can restore our relationship with Him.
Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-10
Salvation
We believe salvation is the free gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ. It encompasses regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification.
Salvation is not earned by works but given by God’s mercy and love.
John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5-7
The Church
We believe the New Testament church is a local body of baptized believers united in faith and fellowship. It is autonomous yet cooperative under the Lordship of Christ.
The church observes the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
Matthew 16:15-19; Acts 2:41-47; 1 Timothy 3:1-15
Baptism & Lord’s Supper
We practice believer’s baptism by immersion as a public demonstration of our faith in Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. The Lord’s Supper is observed as a memorial of His sacrifice.
Matthew 3:13-17; 26:26-30; Romans 6:3-5
Last Things
We believe in the personal, visible return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and the final judgment. The righteous will enjoy eternal life in heaven, while the unrighteous will face everlasting separation from God.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:11-15
Evangelism & Missions
We are committed to spreading the Gospel to all nations. Every believer is called to share the good news of Jesus Christ through words and actions that reflect a transformed life.
Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8
Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some common questions about our beliefs and practices:
We understand “inspiration” to mean that God guided the human authors of Scripture so that the Bible is both divinely inspired and free from error in its original manuscripts.
Baptism by immersion best symbolizes the believer’s identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, as demonstrated in the New Testament.
We believe in one God who exists eternally in three distinct persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who are coequal in nature and work in perfect unity.
We affirm that God is sovereign in salvation while still holding human responsibility. The offer of the gospel is genuine, and those who trust in Christ will be saved.
